Sermon Notes

Scripture tells us that we love because God first loved us (1 John 4:19). Left to our own devices we are fallen, broken, selfish creatures. But God’s love, poured into our lives from a variety of places, people and ways, calls us out and higher. Love casts out fear. It protects, trusts, hopes, and perseveres. Paul tells us that love never fails. Love brings out the best in us and others. It’s easy to see why the command to Love One Another is foundation to experiencing happiness. If a rising tide lifts all ships, surely a rising tide of love lifts us all.
